Failure of the Sign Is the Sign
Hope Mohr (Hope Mohr Dance)
A sextet about the moment of learning to speak as a step toward selfhood and separation from the mother. Dancers move and vocalize amid soft-sculpture organs while a voiceover of mother and daughter poetry unfolds in alphabetical order.
