Hush
Archive folder: HUSH
Joe Goode (Joe Goode Performance Group)
A full-length dance-theater work set in a run-down bar, where six friends and co-workers deal with hidden struggles and support one member through the aftermath of violence. The script draws on real interviews, and the soundscape combines the performers' voices, an original electronic score by Ben Juodvalkis and live Foley effects by Sudhu Tewari.

Press
“Not since Stravinsky unleashed his Sacre du Printemps on a scandalized Parisian audience in 1913 has the score for a ballet been so transfixing.”
“Ben Juodvalkis' music discards all of Goode's usual Midwestern twang in favor of a much more contemporary atmosphere, creating a harder reality.”
“Hush combines personal stories, dance, visuals and innovative ambient sound techniques drawn from Foley filmmaking”
“this Petri dish of music, theater, and dance is as much about inclusion as it is secrets”
“The use of sound effects, created live by Sudhu Tewari, is a brilliant conceit which evokes the days of radio plays.”
“The theme of finding one's voice takes on atmospheric depth in a sound installation by Sudhu Tewari and Ben Juodvalkis.”
“Goode's Hush, a contemporary modern piece accompanied by the live soundscapes of Foley artist Sudhu Tewari”
