2014 · Dance – stage work
SOAR
Scott Marlowe (director/choreographer, LEVYdance associate director), for LEVYdance (artistic director Benjamin Levy)
An evening-length (about 50-minute), audience-participatory dance work in which spectators' choices shape what they see: they sit in the round on stage, choose 'red' or 'blue' to divide the theater with a curtain, stand in squares of light, and finally line the walls for a finale in which dancers vault from nested tables and are caught by the cast. Ben's score opens with flying and wind sounds and includes sections such as the Prologue, 'Solo Armies' and the Finale.
